29 February 2016 BBC News “Oscars 2016: Surprises and soapboxes”
As we can understand from the title this new is about the surprises and soapboxes at last night’s Oscar. There is lots of facts in the new but I chose the best ones. Actually Leonardo DiCaprio’s Oscar was the biggest suprise. Him not to getting an Oscar, started to being a joke and I did not think he will won but he did. Congregation Leo. After that the biggest things happend in Oscars are them: 1)Wins for Spotlight and Mark Rylance were the biggest surprises of Oscar night. 2)Adam McKay, director of The Big Short, kicked things off when he collected the prize for best adapted screenplay warning against voting for a presidential candidate that takes money from the oil companies. 3)Alejandro Inarritu spoke up on diversity and racism in his acceptance speech during his win for best director.( The is kind of good because black starts started to protest Oscars. So, someone needs to talk about their problems and calm them down.) 4)DiCaprio meanwhile called on everyone to respect the planet and focus on the challenges of global warming.( As usual, I think he needs to won another Oscar for the “ best talker of global problems”
I think it is now Brad Pitt, Robert Downey, Tom Cruise and Johnny Depp’s turn. These are the biggest actors in the Hollywood. If they have not won an Oscar yet I don’t think Oscars are fair. Give them Oscars or I am sorry Leo but your whole exertion was for nothing.
BBC News Syria conflict: UN steps up aid deliveries as truce holds
I am soooo sorry Mr. Farley because I am sharing news about Syria after a great Oscar night but we need to learn what is going on in the world. I shared a news last week. It was about Un dropping food and water and this time it is UN as well. An aid convoy has reached one of several besieged towns in Syria, as the UN takes advantage of a partial truce brokered by the US and Russia. The UN and its partners are stepping up deliveries of food, water and medicine, and plan to reach more than 150,000 people over the next five days. They hope to help 1.7 million in hard-to-reach areas by the end of March. So yeah the UN is still helping the people in Syria and we all hope that this project will continiue and the war will end
BBC News Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy, 37, has made history as the only Pakistani to win two Oscars. On Tuesday, she made headlines in Pakistan when her name was called at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles, for best short subject documentary film of the year. She walked up to the stage to accept the award, waved her Oscar triumphantly and said: "I have another one!" The film, A Girl in the River - The Price of Forgiveness, highlights the issue of honour killings in Pakistan. It traces the story of an 18-year-old woman, Saba, who was shot by her relatives to redeem their family honour, and dumped into a river. She miraculously survived to tell her story. The subject of honour killings is not discussed much in Pakistan - mainly because most of the crimes go unreported and the victims remain unknown. This is why Ms Obaid Chinoy chose it as the subject for her latest film. In her acceptance speech, she said that after seeing the film, Pakistan's Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has vowed to change the law on honour killings. "That is the power of film," she said.
29.02.2016 BBC News (Great Britain) Leonardo DiCaprio, Spotlight and Brie Larson were just some of the winners at the Oscars God! Finally!!!! Leo won a Oscar everybody! We waited this moment like months and he finally won the oscars. But he wasn’t the only one who won the Oscars. For example Spotlight, one of my favourite movies out there and it based on the true stories. İts about the survivors from the’rape’…. In 1970 i think the priests from Catholic churchs rape some kids for no reason and they started to investigate this. The film is about this. But let’s just move on with the Oscars. As you probably know from the past that in the Oscars they didn’t give any awards to black people and that made them angry. So the host of the show, Chris Rock, said ‘white people choice awards’ And when the show moved on , rewards handed to their owners. For the best supporting actor, Mark Rylance. For the best supporting actress, Brie Larson. For the best original song, Sam Smith. And when the show was about the finish, Lady Gaga sang her song about the survivors from the sexual assault.
CNN News 29 February 2016 Monday Oscar shines on 'Spotlight'
Mad Max: Fury Road won 6 awards at 88th Academy Award. And also that night Lady Gaga was there too for singing Till It Happens To You and the applauses were amazing as much as I could heard from the video( Oscar in 90 seconds) And (of course as everyone wants and thinks that he have already deserved) Leonardo DiCaprio won his first award. He won the best actor award from "The Revenant". But there is a sad thing in that night too:some black actors didn't come and the speaker, Chris Rock said in the ceremony that black actors should have the same rights to get an Oscar. There was a big applause after his speech but the next day in the Daily News and in some other newspaper it says that he had gone so far and he shouldn't have talked like that. Brie Larson won the best actress award from "Room" and Alicia Vikander won best supporting actress from her performance in "The Danish Girl".And Mark Rylance won the best supporting actor from "Bridge of Spies". The best animated feature was "Inside Out." Sam Smith's "Writing's on the Wall" song from the James Bond film "Spectre" won best song award. And the biggest shock is (according to news) the ceremony took 4 hours it is much more longer than some shows in recent years. By the way Leo made an speech when he went to get his award he pointed an global issue that environmental risk cutlass that we must start taking care of immediately: "Climate change is real. It is happening right now; we needed to go to the tip of South America to find snow. ... It is the most urgent threat facing our entire species," "We need to support leaders around the world who speak for indigenous people, for humanity, the voices who have been drowned out by the politics of greed. Do not take this planet for granted. ... I do not take this night for granted. Thank you." I think that he deserve this award very much an I believe that even if he did not take this year he would probably take this award someday because he tried so hard and his acting is very good in this film an his other popular films.

CNN news Would you drink this? When brown tap water is deemed legal and safe Garrett Boyte's first clue that something was wrong came the day he moved to town.He showed up for his new job at Christ Episcopal Church in St. Joseph, Louisiana, and saw a note on the refrigerator door: "Don't drink the water."Then came his welcome gift: A case of bottled water. "I said, 'Well surely it can't be that bad,'" said Boyte, now 23. "I turned (the water) on, and it came out yellow."Not much has changed in the 20 months since. About once a week -- Boyte never knows when -- his shower spews putrid yellow or brown water, he said. Across town, the water in Elvadus Fields' house is so dirty he won't wash his clothes in it. Every week, he and his wife drive 45 miles to a laundromat, where they know the water won't stain their clothes brown."The water is just terrible and unbearable," Fields said. "I can't quite understand why we have such trouble here in St. Joe."Concerns about water safety escalated nationwide after reports of lead poisoning from the tap water in flint, Michigan. Pediatricians say they believe children with elevated levels of lead in Flint will suffer lifelong conequences. In Flint, a temporary switch of the water source coincided with the high lead levels. Aging water pipes played a role in the lead crisis, as did the failure to add an anti-corrosive agent to protect the water.St. Joseph's situation is different: Its water hasn't tested positive for high amounts of lead. Instead, it has tested positive for high levels of iron, which is not considered to be a serious health risk. But the problem in the northeastern Louisiana town represents a broader issue in cities across the country: water that is legally safe but often looks disgusting. Anxiety permeates the town of 1,100. Like Flint, the water pipes are old -- in St. Joseph's case, about 90 years old. Like Flint, most of the town is black, and at least one-third of the town falls under the poverty line. And like in Flint, residents say they're frustrated with the pace of government action in fixing the water. Some St. Joseph residents say they've seen brown or yellow water sporadically for a few years; others say the problem goes back 10 years.Louisiana has committed millions of dollars to fix the problem in St. Joseph -- but the town can't access the money due to missing paperwork, state officials say. So the residents wait and worry, wondering what their water will do to them. State Health Officer Dr. Jimmy Guidry said tests have not found dangerous amounts of chemicals in St. Joseph's water. It's safe, he says -- but he wouldn't drink it.
In St. Joseph, taking a shower could leave you dirtier than not showering at all.
"Last week, I was taking a shower, and in the middle of my shower, the water turned brown," Boyte said. "And I had shampoo in my hair, so I had to finish."
A few hours later, he noticed rust-colored streaks covering his towel.
"And I'm thinking, this is what I bathe in," he said. "This is the life that we have here."
